Annual Snowboarder MBM Session in Sölden

The annual fotoshoot of the Snowboarder MBM Magazine at the end of every season has been a highlight for nearly every european snowboard pro in the last 12 years. This year the crew fell into Sölden/ Austria to have an amazing week. So did Fanatic`s Peter Sandner who was there with Steve Gruber, Levi Luggen, Thomas Feuerstein und photo legend Basti Gogl.

Enjoy this videoedit of day 3, which includes some scetchy moments for Peter, but everything worked out fine in the end!

Nicolas Wolken is going big in Tamok/ Norway!

Maybe no one of you has ever heard about Tamok. No, it`s not in Rumania, it`s in Norway and Tamok has got amazing terrain. Steep Lines, cliffs and perfect kicker spots. Not to mention- a perfect place for Fanatic`s Nicholas Wolken, who iss famous for killing it in such conditions.

Last week Fanatic teamrider Peter Sandner took part at the 10th Wängl Tängl Contest in the Penken Park in mayrhofen. This contest is a very special one, it`s a crew contest (3 riders), it`s absolutely riders driven and the Ästhetiker Crew, who`s organizing the whole contestival, is standing for true snowboarding in austria since ever. Big names like Peetu Piroinen, Eric Willet, Arthur Longo, Wolle Nyvelt, etc. showed up and rode like shit! Peter Sandner and his teammates Stephan Wimmer and Florian Trattner- The Good, the Bad and The Ugly- won the qualification, which brought them into the main event. They lost against Team Absolut, but the whole week there was a blast!

The Austrian spring- time for the Austrian Masters

As every year in the beginning of march, the austrian masters are a fixpoint in the calendar of Fanatic`s teamrider Peter Sandner. Not because that he`s a dedicated contest ripper, but to meet his Ästhetiker Gang and to ride a good park and the seegrube pipe in easy sessions are the reasons to be part of the contest. Finally, although Peter wasn`t too stoked about his performance, here are a few nice shoots and in the end he made it on the podium of the legends class.

In Rinn, a small village near Innsbruck, there`s a little T-Bar lift, where the kids are able to do their firts steps in snowboarding. A few years ago, some motivated shredders from Innsbruck, called the SANE Crew, managed to start an amazing Jib Park. Rumours went down about the Sane park, therefore this year the infamous Volcom Peanut Butter Rail Jam took place in Rinn. Fanatic`s teamrider Dominik Brunner, who`s also part of the Sane Crew, was killin`it and became second!

Here are a few impressions! Congratz Dominik!

The winter 2011/2012 in europe has been just insane till the moment. Since the mid of december riders in the alps ride pow all day long, and it doesn`t seem that the next months will be different. Perfect conditions for Fanatic`s Snowsurf, a powder board, which you can ride in nearly every terrain. Teamrider Nicholas Wolken, who`s known for his innovative way of bringing creative freestyle into the deepness, introduces you the Freesurf!

1. Nico, you`ve been developing the Snowsurf together with Fanatic`s headshapers. What`s the idea behind the Board?

N: . Before I was riding for Fanatic i was trying different shaped powder boards. I wanted a board that was short, agile, good for jumping and had maximum float

2. How did you get the inspiration for such a Board?

N: I was and am inspired by various Japanes shapers and the snowsurfmovement over there.

3. What`s so specific about the Snowsurf?

N: Its makes riding powder easy because it floats very well. it is one of the only powder boards that has camber out there. it gives to board pop, responsiveness and power to slash the shit out of those pillows.

4. How does the Snowsurf work on the slope, park, pipe and rails?

N: I wouldn’t recommend riding rails…

5. Do you ride it in every condition?

N: Yes i love to slash carve and jump with it in all kind of conditions.

6. Which type of rider is ready for the snowsurf?

N: Since it is really easy to handle and relatively short i would recommend it to every level of rider…

7. Final Words concerning the Snowsurf:

N: This board actually made me a better rider… its the first board to do that, considering I`ve been riding for 20 years that pretty much sums it up.
